J. Kevin Morton

A 1979 graduate of Davidson College, Mr. Morton studied law at the UNC School of Law. He opened his law practice in Winston-Salem in 1985. For nineteen years, he has represented people with disabilities before the Social Security Administration, in the Federal District Courts and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Morton has been a DRC certified mediator since 1992 and has mediated numerous Worker's Compensation cases.

He is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimant's Representatives (NOSSCR) and the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers (NCATL). He is an elder at Redeemer Presbyterian Church, serves on the Board of Redeemer School, and builds custom furniture when deadlines approach. He is married and has two children.

Deborah C. Fredette

Debbie was born in Brockton, Massachusetts and lived in southeastern Massachusetts until 1990 when she and her husband, Ray, and four children, moved to Lexington, North Carolina. Debbie attended college in Boston and received her AS degree from Chamberlayne Junior College in 1976. She received her paralegal certificate in 1992 from the American Institute for Paralegal Studies, and passed the CLA (Certified Legal Assistant) examination in 1993.

Debbie has worked in the legal field since college and, except for a one-year sabbatical, has been employed with the firm since August 1991. With a husband, four children and a dog, Debbie doesn't have much free time. However, she manages to stay involved in her church and has taken several short-term mission trips to Honduras. She is studying Spanish and teaches ESL (English as a Second Language) in Thomasville.
